HoneyBeeTime

HoneyBeeTime is a web application I worked on at Sanmark Solutions, built on a microservices architecture using Nest.js, Node.js, AWS, React, Terraform, ShadCN, and TailwindCSS. It pairs complex backend processes with front-end interfaces to deliver a user-friendly experience designed to scale.

Role: Project lead & full-stack engineer  ·  Team: small cross-functional team  ·  Focus: microservices architecture, cloud infrastructure, frontend

The challenge

The product needed to handle complex, interconnected backend processes without turning into a monolith that was painful to scale or deploy. The goal was a system where individual pieces could grow, fail, and ship independently, while still feeling like one smooth product to the user.

What is HoneyBeeTime?

HoneyBeeTime is a web application developed using a microservices architecture, with a stack that includes Nest.js, Node.js, AWS, React, Terraform, ShadCN, and TailwindCSS. The project focused on providing a user-friendly experience while integrating complex backend processes with front-end interfaces, ensuring the system’s scalability and performance. My Role

I managed the project and worked across both backend and frontend development alongside a small team. I was responsible for planning the solution and its infrastructure, ensuring scalability and performance across the system. Working on HoneyBeeTime taught me a great deal about building with microservices and designing efficient solutions at scale.

Outcome

The platform shipped as a set of independently deployable services behind a shared frontend, with infrastructure defined as code so environments were reproducible. It’s live at honeybeetime.com.
