Wolo is a food ordering and delivery platform I worked on at Sanmark Solutions, built as three Flutter mobile apps and two Laravel web apps, using Firebase for the backend and Flutter with GetX for the mobile and web front ends.
Role: Mobile & full-stack engineer · Surface: 3 mobile apps + 2 web apps · Focus: cross-platform consistency
The challenge
A delivery platform has several very different users - customers, businesses, and drivers - each needing their own app, but all sharing the same live order state. The hard part was keeping the experience consistent across five separate apps and two surfaces (web and mobile) without the codebase and the UX drifting apart.
What is Wolo?
Wolo is a platform aimed at improving the food ordering and delivery experience. It spans three mobile apps and two Laravel web apps, working together to serve both customers and businesses. The system ensures smooth interaction across web and mobile interfaces, delivering a seamless user experience on either surface. You can explore the project at http://food.wolo.ro/.
My Role
I contributed to the development of this project. I used Firebase for the backend and built the mobile apps and web apps with Flutter and GetX. My work focused on keeping the interaction consistent across both the web and mobile interfaces so that customers and businesses alike get a seamless experience throughout the ordering and delivery flow.
Tech Stack
- Laravel - PHP framework powering the two web apps in the platform.
- Flutter - cross-platform toolkit used to build the three mobile apps and the web apps.
- GetX - Flutter state management and routing library used across the apps.
- Firebase - backend platform used for the project’s backend services.
Outcome
The platform shipped across all five apps with a shared ordering and delivery flow that stays in sync between customer, business, and driver. It’s live at food.wolo.ro.
